There is a story of how the bulldog took very good care of an orphaned baby orangutan. When a baby orangutan named Malone was abandoned by his mother, the Twycross Zoo in England didn’t know if he would make it. Luckily, a 9-year-old French bulldog named Bugsy stepped in and took care of the little guy. The pair became fast friends and would even fall asleep together. When Malone was big enough, he joined the other orangutans at the zoo.

French Bulldogs can be stubborn and require a little more patience during training, which is why we recommend having their favorite treat nearby. Stubborn Frenchies can be difficult to train. Most Frenchies do have a strong stubborn streak, and if your dog displays this behavior, you will need to be more focused and patient with him or her. Frenchies are generally very smart, but because they can be stubborn, they may need 80 to 100 command repetitions before they can actually get an instruction.

Because French Bulldogs are so people oriented and want so much to please, we have found that they are fairly easy to train.  They can be a little stubborn, but so can just about every other breed.  If you make training into games for your Frenchie, he or she will want to play all the time.
